Sorry I lost momentum busy weekend, my next offering for Easter are those twins Tweedledee and Tweedledum, not sure if they are good or bad, surly I would say certainly not loveable! Anyway see the images and pattern below and enjoy!
Day 4 - Those surly twins, Tweedledee & Tweedledum
Yarn: Any DK weight yarn. Chose White, Red and Black.
Hook: Use 4mm hook throughout.
ss – slip stitch
dc – double crochet
ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
FO – Fasten Off
Special instructions: Surface crochet insert hook from the front into crochet piece, pull through a loop leaving a tail to create a chain, insert hook again from front to pick up yarn inside the hat/cosy, pulling through loop work to end, when you reach the end, insert the hook from the inside cut yarn leaving a long tail and pull through to the inside.
R1 –Ch2, work 8dc into 2nd ch from hook to form a ring, ss into first dc to join.
R2 – Ch1, dc1 into base of ch1, dc2 into each of next 8 sts, ss into first dc to join.
R3 – Ch1, dc1 into base of ch1, dc2 into next st,* dc1 into following st*, repeat from *to* to beg ch1, ss into first dc to join.
R4 to R7– Ch1, dc1 into each st to end, ss into first dc to join.
R8 – Repeat R4 once, changing to black yarn on last st.
R9 – Repeat R4 once changing to red yarn on last st.
R10 to R13 – Repeat R8 and R9 2 times.
R14 – Repeat R8. FO.
Weave in tails, using surface crochet and black yarn, (use image as a guide) work a line of chain st to represent braces from front to back. Weave in tails. Attach two small buttons (1cm) at the front use (image as a guide).
These are a representation of Tweedledum and dee, but you can go further and using instructions for white rabbit you can produce a head and embroider a face.
